Telemonitoring and Communication
The VI Institute is taking telemedicine to the next level. Our goal is to enable new forms of communication between physicians and patients by combining the highest standards of data protection, artificial intelligence, and user-friendly design. Our technologies—developed in part in Austria—such as telemonitoring and secure communication platforms, ensure continuous data protection across all aspects of information exchange. All information—photos, videos, files (including medical reports, audio recordings, and similar data)—is fully encrypted throughout the entire transmission process.
Research: DermaVisio NET
Visio and DermaVisio NET are robust communication platforms featuring comprehensive end-to-end encryption for all common file formats, along with full protection of all metadata. This solution is currently unique in the field of telehealth and represents a key prerequisite for the widespread adoption of telemedicine. Ultimately, telemedical consultations will be just as secure as traditional in-person visits in a doctor’s office: communication via our solution cannot be intercepted. No unauthorized party can access the transmitted information—or even detect that a consultation has taken place at all.
Research: DermaVisio KIS
DermaVisio KIS is a research project exploring how AI-based image recognition can support medical professionals in their work. Developed according to the specific needs of healthcare providers in the field of dermatology, it is designed to assist physicians in their diagnostic processes through cutting-edge technology.

Making complex technologies user-friendly

WHAT WE DEVELOP

COVID-19 has demonstrated the critical importance of maintaining healthcare services, even in exceptional circumstances and remote regions. Our goal is to create secure platforms and tools for physician–patient communication using state-of-the-art technologies. Advanced encryption algorithms play a key role in ensuring data security.

By smartly integrating administrative processes, we reduce the administrative burden on physicians while providing powerful telemonitoring applications and secure communication tools.

Secure technology for virtual doctor-patient consultations.

Smartphones, video conferencing, and the internet provide the ideal conditions for remote medical consultations.

But are these conversations truly secure and encrypted?
Do the applications ensure intuitive, seamless usability?
Can administrative workflows be streamlined effectively?

Our technology enables entirely new ways of interaction between doctors and patients—enhancing accessibility, security, and efficiency.

Harmonizing systems

Healthcare technologies on three levels

The developments of the VI Institute seamlessly integrate with one another. Our secure platform for doctor-patient consultations simplifies documentation and analysis in the background. Additionally, our platform provides an interface for an app and other applications.

In addition, our telemonitoring solution enables physicians to remotely track the real-time progression of critical patient data, such as ECG readings and respiratory rates.

telemonitoring

Telemonitoring allows doctors to remotely observe important patient health data in real time. What’s more, doctors gain insight into their patients’ long-term values. Our telemonitoring application is based on our research into  completely secure communication (Fig. 1) as well as AI-supported evaluations(Fig. 2)  and  image analyses (Fig. 3).

COMPLETE SECURITY

Telemedicine offers great opportunities – but only if communication is secure throughout. DermaVisio NET (also known as Visio) offers complete end-to-end encryption – not only for text, as is standard in the market, but also for images, videos and other common file formats. What’s more, our system also protects metadata from access and analysis by third parties. Data protection at the highest level!

THE FUTURE OF MEDICAL IMAGE RECOGNITION

DermaVisio KIS technology (research project) enables medical images to be compared automatically. For example, it can be used to compare photos of specific organs of a patient with specific clinical pictures. Deep neural networks and complex artificial intelligence play an important role in this process. Intelligent translation into smart software ensures ease of use and considerable time savings, while the involvement of medical specialists guarantees a high degree of reliability.

ASSESS SKIN CHANGES VIA AN APP

The DermaVisio app (research project) has a diary function that helps patients prepare for their doctor’s appointment. The DermaVisio app makes it possible for the first time to record and analyse skin changes via smartphone without any additional devices. The app compares the image taken with a medical database and provides an astonishingly accurate initial assessment in no time at all.

SIMPLIFYING COMPLEXITY WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY

"Technology is evolving more and more from the primitive, through the complicated, to the simple."
