Telemonitoring
Next stop: Telemonitoring!
After developing a secure communication platform for telemedicine and a smartphone app for the early detection of skin cancer, the VI Institute is now focusing on telemonitoring. In the healthcare sector, our development aims to reduce the workload on doctors and bring improvements for patients.
Certain medical examinations should ideally be carried out over a certain period of time. Examples include ECGs or measuring oxygen supply. However, this ties up capacity in the healthcare sector and, in many cases, requires patients to prepare for a hospital stay. The change is stressful for patients and, in turn, has an impact on their vital signs. Our development should make it possible for patients to remain in their familiar
environment. The data collected – such as ECGs or respiratory rate – is transmitted to doctors in real time.
- Our telemonitoring provides data that reflects patients’ actual everyday lives.
- Patients remain in their familiar surroundings.
- Doctors gain insight into the long-term progression of important health data – practically in real time.
